De Montfort Hall is Leicestershire’s largest venue promoting a wide ranging and exciting programme of arts and entertainment for the East Midlands.

Originally built in 1913, the Hall re-opened in December 1994 after extensive refurbishment work enabling a greater versatility to accommodate a diverse range of shows and events.  Located in its own grounds on the edge of the city centre, the Hall is within easy reach of both the M1 and M69 and the railway station on the Intercity Midland Mainline route just one and a half hours from London. East Midlands Airport is 40 minutes away on the M1.

The Hall is also known for its excellent facilities for all kinds of events from large scale conferences and exhibitions to AGM’s and award ceremonies.


The Main Hall

An extremely versatile area with numerous seating layouts that can be tailored to suit your event; tiered stalls, standing with seated balconies and cabaret style with table seating.

The Victoria and Garden Suites

In addition to the main hall are two function rooms with excellent views of the Hall’s grounds.  Both suites are complete venues in their own right or can complement a larger function in the main hall.

The glass fronted Victoria Suite overlooks the amphitheatre and is ideal for meetings or training days of up to 120 people (theatre style seating) /100 (cabaret style seating).  It also has two licensed bars and an outdoor terraced seating area.

The Garden Suite on the opposite side of the building offers a similar space featuring a licensed bar and small enclosed garden area making it an ideal breakout area for a networking lunch or VIP reception.

The Marketing Department can assist and advise on all aspects of the promotion of your event. We can provide you with a first class marketing service: from print distribution and advertising to co-promotions with radio stations and press releases.

Our Technical Team are experts in their field with wide experience in all aspects of lighting, sound, special effects and staging of even the most complex and demanding shows and events. They will be happy to assist with any queries you may have.

A well-equipped Box Office is essential to sell tickets for your event. We can relieve you of the hassle, stress and time spent printing and selling your own tickets. The Hall’s Box Office is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm (10am - 8pm on performance days). We also have agents and a box office outlet in the City Centre.
