DVORAK Carnival Overture
SCHUMANN Piano Concerto

The main work in the first concert of the new Bardi season is Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Symphony No.5. It was premiered in 1943 during the dark days of World War 2 and yet is one of the composer’s most pastoral works. Young British pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason performs Schumann’s romantic Piano Concerto with Dvorak’s vibrant Carnival Overture opening proceedings.

Bardi Symphony Orchestra 2017/18 Season also includes:
Sunday 4 February - BEETHOVEN Eroica
Sunday 18 March - The Magic of The Musicals
Sunday 13 May - A Hero's Life

Sunday 19 November - Verdi Requiem in collaboration with Leicestershire Chorale
