The main work in the first concert of the new Bardi season is
Ralph VaughanWilliams’s Symphony No.5. It was premiered
in 1943 during the dark days of WorldWar 2 and yet is one of
the composer’s most pastoral works. Young British pianist Isata
Kanneh-Mason performs Schumann’s romantic Piano Concerto
with Dvořák’s vibrant Carnival Overture opening proceedings.

opera ‘The Magic Flute’.
